WHO’S AFRAID OF RED.

THE NAME ‘WHO’S AFRAID OF RED’ IS OBVIOUSLY INSPIRED BY BARNETT NEWMAN’S MOST FAMOUS WORKS. AND LIKE NEWMAN I LIKE TO GET TO KNOW THE PEOPLE WHO ACQUIRE MY WORKS AND KNOW THE PLACES WHERE THEY’LL BE INSTALLED.
THE WAY IT’S PAINTED IS MORE INSPIRED BY PIET MONDRIAAN AND DE STIJL, ONLY HERE THE COLORS ARE NOT ENCLOSED, MORE FREE, LIKE NEWMAN ADVOCATED. IN THESE FOUR WORKS, NEWMAN AND MONDRIAAN ARE REUNITED, WHERE BEFORE THEY WERE OPPOSING. BOTH PAINTERS WERE INVOLVED WITH EXPRESSING THE HIGHER REALMS IN THEIR WORK AND WOULD ENJOY BEING REUNITED IN THIS WAY, I BELIEVE, AS ARE ALL WORLDLY THINGS AND BEINGS IN GOD’S COUNTRY, R.I.P. BROTHERS!
